Fatal Collision on 134 Freeway in Glendale Causes Major Traffic Disruptions
GLENDALE, CA (April 2, 2024) — A tragic incident occurred early Tuesday morning on the 134 Freeway in Glendale, where a deadly crash involving a semi-truck and a white Honda led to significant traffic backups. The collision, reported around 5 a.m. near Glendale Avenue, prompted authorities to shut down all but one westbound lane, causing extensive delays for commuters.
The California Highway Patrol confirmed the death of the Honda driver following the crash. A SigAlert was issued, initially expected to last until 7:30 a.m., but extended due to the severity of the incident.
Footage from the scene showed long queues of vehicles navigating past the accident site in the remaining open lane, with traffic reportedly backed up into Eagle Rock.
