Fatal Crash Shuts Down 101 Freeway in Woodland Hills
WOODLAND HILLS, CA (June 19, 2024) — A deadly collision on the 101 Freeway in Woodland Hills led to a partial shutdown of westbound lanes early Wednesday morning.
The Woodland Hills car crash, involving at least two vehicles, occurred near the Canoga Avenue exit just before 4 a.m., the California Highway Patrol reported. While CHP confirmed one fatality, it remains unclear if others were injured.
CHP issued a Sig Alert, closing all westbound lanes, later reopening one lane. The closure is expected to last for an unspecified duration. By 6 a.m., aerial footage revealed significant traffic congestion as most lanes remained closed.
