Fatal DUI Crash on Highway 145 in Madera County
MADERA COUNTY, CA (August 21, 2024) — A suspected DUI crash late Sunday night on Highway 145 in Madera County resulted in one fatality. The collision occurred after 11 p.m. near Toja Road.
California Highway Patrol reports that a Dodge Charger traveling west crossed into the eastbound lane and collided with a Ford truck, leading to the Ford driver’s death at the scene.
Following the initial impact, a Nissan Rogue struck the Dodge Charger, causing the Nissan to spin out and get hit by a Toyota Prius. Additionally, a Dodge pickup collided with the Charger in the middle of the lane.
The Charger caught fire, but officers successfully rescued the driver. The other drivers involved in the Madera DUI crash reportedly sustained minor injuries.
