Fatal Hit-and-Run Near Northeast Fresno Fashion Fair Mall [Fresno, CA]

FRESNO, CA (May 6, 2024) — A tragic incident occurred near Fashion Fair Mall in northeast Fresno, where a woman was killed and a man critically injured following a hit-and-run collision. Fresno police are actively searching for two men believed to be involved in the incident.

The sequence of events began before 9 p.m. on Friday when police attempted to stop a car near Gettysburg Avenue and First Street for driving without headlights. The driver evaded police, speeding into a residential area and eventually jumping the curb into a park near Santa Ana Avenue. It was here that the vehicle struck a man in his 30s and a woman before fleeing the scene. The car later crashed into a pole near Thesta and Santa Ana avenues, and the occupants fled on foot.

The woman succumbed to her injuries at the scene, while the man was transported to a nearby hospital in critical condition. Fresno police are now urging the public to come forward with any information that could lead to the apprehension of the suspects involved in the Fashion Fair Mall hit-and-run incident.
