Fatal Motorcycle vs. Garbage Truck Collision in Garden Grove [Garden Grove, CA]

GARDEN GROVE, CA (April 4, 2024) — A tragic incident occurred in Garden Grove Tuesday afternoon when a motorcyclist collided with a garbage truck, resulting in the rider’s death. 

 

The accident took place around 1:15 p.m. on the 11700 block of Western Avenue, as reported by the Garden Grove Police Department.

 

Upon arrival, officers discovered the 56-year-old Anaheim man, whose identity has yet to be disclosed, unresponsive on the road. Despite prompt transportation to a local trauma center by paramedics, he was later pronounced dead. The driver of the garbage truck stayed at the crash site, assisting with the ongoing investigation.

 

The Neighborhood Traffic Unit of Garden Grove is meticulously investigating the crash, with the scene processed and documented by the Orange County Sheriff’s Department Crime Lab. An autopsy to ascertain the cause of death is underway by the Coroner’s Office, with initial assessments indicating no suspicion of alcohol or drug involvement, pending autopsy results.
