Fatal Truck Crash Closes Costa Mesa Intersection for Six Hours

COSTA MESA, CA (September 24, 2024) — A commercial truck driver died after his vehicle overturned in a violent collision at a Costa Mesa intersection on Monday morning, authorities said.
The crash happened before 9:27 a.m. at the intersection of Sunflower Avenue and Fairview Road, leading the Costa Mesa Police Department to announce a closure of the area. When firefighters arrived, they found the truck lying on its passenger side with significant front-end damage and the engine compartment exposed.
