Fiery Big Rig Crash on 57 Freeway Causes Multi-Vehicle Pileup
ORANGE COUNTY, CA (March 26, 2024) — A big rig truck crashed through the center divider on the 57 Freeway in Orange County, overturning and igniting a fire in the southbound lanes near Imperial Highway in Fullerton. The incident, which took place just after 8 a.m. on Monday, involved a total of five vehicles, including the big rig.
Traveling northbound, the big rig collided with the center divider before flipping into the opposing lanes, where its fuel caught fire, leading to towering flames. Despite the severity of the crash and the subsequent fire, California Highway Patrol Officer Howell reported to local news agencies that there were no fatalities or serious injuries, though some minor injuries were noted.
