Four Killed, Two Injured in Upland DUI Chase

SAN BERNARDINO, CA (June 29, 2024) — A high-speed pursuit in Upland resulted in a violent collision early Friday morning, leaving four suspects dead and injuring two others. Authorities from the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department indicated that the chase started when a Rancho Cucamonga deputy attempted to pull over a vehicle for suspected DUI near North Mountain Avenue and West 16th Street.
The driver of the suspect vehicle failed to halt, initiating the chase that ended disastrously as their car struck another vehicle. The four male occupants of the fleeing vehicle were pronounced dead at the scene. Occupants of the second car were transported to a local hospital, though their conditions have not been disclosed.
The intersection was littered with debris from the involved vehicles, a black car and a white car, as investigation teams closed off the surrounding area for several hours following the Upland DUI chase.
