Head-On Collision on Phelan Road Results in Two Fatalities
PHELAN ROAD, CA (April 17, 2024) — A devastating head-on collision on Phelan Road led to the deaths of both drivers involved in the crash on Sunday night.
The incident, which occurred at approximately 8:15 pm near Tumbleweed Road, involved a white 2018 GMC Yukon and a blue 2015 Subaru Forester.
The California Highway Patrol reported that a 38-year-old woman from Oak Hills, driving the GMC eastbound, crossed into the westbound lane, directly into the path of the Subaru driven by a 27-year-old man from Phelan.
The Phelan Road collision was severe enough to require the San Bernardino County Fire Department’s response, where they pronounced the Subaru’s driver dead at the scene.
Firefighters used extrication tools to free the woman from the GMC, who was then airlifted with major injuries but unfortunately pronounced dead at the hospital.
