Head-On Crash Claims Young Woman’s Life in Hemet

HEMET, CA (September 10, 2024) — A devastating head-on collision in Hemet on Sunday evening resulted in the death of a 21-year-old woman and injuries to two others. The accident happened around 9 p.m. on Mountain Avenue, as reported by the Hemet Police Department.
Stephanie Morales of San Jacinto was driving a Kia Forte westbound when she inadvertently drifted into the eastbound lanes. At the same time, a Hyundai Ioniq was approaching from the opposite direction. Despite the Hyundai driver’s efforts to swerve and avoid the collision, both vehicles collided head-on.
Paramedics rushed to the scene, finding Morales in grave condition. She was transported to a nearby hospital but tragically passed away less than an hour later. Investigations revealed that Morales was not wearing a seatbelt at the time of the head-on crash in Hemet.
The Hyundai’s driver and passenger sustained moderate injuries and were hospitalized but are expected to recover fully.
