Head-On Crash in Sacramento County Leaves Two Dead

SACRAMENTO, CA (May 13, 2024) — A tragic head-on collision in Sacramento County claimed the lives of two individuals early Saturday morning.
The incident, involving a gray Nissan SUV and a silver Lexus SUV, occurred around 12:15 p.m. along Highway 160 at Sherman Island Road, as reported by the California Highway Patrol.
According to authorities, the driver of the Nissan veered into the northbound lane, colliding with the oncoming Lexus. The reasons for this deviation are currently unclear. The Nissan’s driver and a female passenger succumbed to their injuries at the scene.
Two children, a three-month-old and a five-year-old, were also transported to a Bay Area hospital with injuries of unknown severity.
The driver of the Lexus sustained major injuries and was rushed to an East Bay hospital for treatment. Preliminary investigations suggest that alcohol may have been a factor in this devastating crash.
