High-Speed Crash in Lost Hills Leaves Driver Dead

KERN COUNTY, CA (August 14, 2024) — A 52-year-old man died after losing control of his vehicle on Highway 33 in Lost Hills, California, Tuesday afternoon.
The sedan veered off the road near Twisselman Road at around 2:15 p.m., according to the California Highway Patrol (CHP). The car crashed into a dirt field east of the highway, killing the driver at the scene. The passenger sustained minor injuries and was taken to Kern Medical for treatment.
The CHP reported that speed was a factor in the crash in Lost Hills but ruled out alcohol and drugs. The Kern County Coroner’s Office will release the driver’s identity later.
