Hit-and-Run Incident Causes Havoc in Long Beach
LONG BEACH, CA (April 1, 2024) — A hit-and-run collision early Sunday morning resulted in a white Land Rover overturning and causing significant damage to a fire hydrant and power pole in Long Beach.
The accident, which took place just before 1 a.m. near Spring Street and Temple Avenue, led to an unusual scene as water jetted more than 20 feet into the air following the impact.
Upon arrival, police discovered the aftermath of the rollover crash but found no individuals at the site. Efforts to identify the driver involved were ongoing as of Sunday morning, with authorities actively seeking leads to address the situation.
The broken hydrant required approximately 20 minutes of effort from firefighters to halt the water surge. Despite the dramatic visuals and potential risks posed by the damaged infrastructure, there were no reports of injuries so far related to the Long Beach hit-and-run.
