Hit-and-Run Near Paso Robles Ends in One Fatality, Two Injured
PASO ROBLES, CA (March 12, 2024) — The California Highway Patrol is on the hunt for a driver involved in a deadly hit-and-run crash that occurred early Monday morning outside Paso Robles, leaving one person dead and two others severely injured.
The incident took place at 12:29 a.m. on Creston Road, west of Neal Springs Road, involving a gray 2008 BMW 328i. Authorities report the vehicle was speeding when it veered off the road for unknown reasons, rolling over multiple times and ejecting all three passengers, who were not wearing seat belts at the time.
At the scene, a 43-year-old passenger from Santa Maria was found deceased, while 41-year-old Carlos S. Torres Diaz and 47-year-old Aliandro Torres Gomez, both residents of Paso Robles, sustained major injuries and were rushed to Sierra Vista Medical Center in San Luis Obispo.
The driver, however, fled before officers arrived and remains at large. The involvement of alcohol or drugs in the Paso Robles hit-and-run crash has not been determined.
The CHP is actively seeking information to apprehend the driver responsible for this tragic incident. Anyone with insights is encouraged to come forward as the investigation continues.
