PLACER COUNTY, CA (March 8, 2024) — A man lost his life on Interstate 80 in Placer County after being struck by a semi-truck, prompting the California Highway Patrol (CHP) to close multiple westbound lanes for investigation.
The incident, which happened just west of Penryn, involved several vehicles, causing significant traffic delays. Reports from CHP indicate the pedestrian, whose identity remains undisclosed, exited his parked vehicle along the highway and was hit by the truck driven by a 23-year-old from Penryn.
