LA Man Dies in Motorcycle Crash in San Diego County Highlands

SAN DIEGO, CA (July 31, 2024) — A 66-year-old motorcyclist from Los Angeles was fatally injured in a crash involving two motorcycles and a pickup truck in San Diego County on Sunday morning.
The incident occurred around 10:30 a.m. in the Wynola area. The rider, traveling east on his 2020 Harley-Davidson Low Rider, crossed into the westbound lane near Springview Road and collided with a 2024 Chevrolet Silverado towing a trailer, according to the California Highway Patrol.
The collision knocked the man off his motorcycle, leaving him pinned beneath his bike. Another rider, a 55-year-old from Mission Viejo, attempted to avoid the crash but also ended up colliding with the pickup truck.
First responders pronounced the 66-year-old man dead while en route to an airlift location. His name has not been released, pending family notification. The second motorcyclist was transported to Palomar Medical Center with severe injuries.
Both motorcyclists were wearing helmets, and authorities do not believe drugs or alcohol contributed to the motorcycle crash in San Diego. The driver of the Silverado and his passenger were not injured in the accident.
