Manufactured Home Topples, Causing Major 210 Freeway Shutdown

PASADENA, CA (June 25, 2024) — Several lanes of the 210 Freeway in Pasadena remained shut down Tuesday morning after a manufactured home fell off a big rig and collided with another truck on the highway.
The incident happened just before 7 p.m. Monday in the westbound lanes near the N. Lake Avenue ramps, causing significant traffic delays, according to the California Highway Patrol. By 6 a.m. Tuesday, only the two left lanes were open.
At least one person was hospitalized, police said. Tarane Black, the driver of the big rig clipped by the fallen home, spoke to news agencies, explaining that he had pulled over on the shoulder of the freeway due to issues with his truck. His wife, who was sleeping in the cab, was reportedly taken to the hospital with injuries after being thrown by the crash’s impact.
Local news footage showed the trailer of the big rig with considerable damage, and debris from the manufactured home scattered across the roadway. CHP officers managed traffic, allowing one lane to pass through the area. It remains unclear when all lanes will reopen.
