Motorcyclist Fatally Collides with Car in Sunnyvale
SUNNYVALE, CA (March 18, 2024) — Tragedy struck in Sunnyvale as a motorcyclist lost their life Sunday morning following a collision with a car at the intersection of Lawrence Expressway and Arques Avenue, according to authorities.
Police responded to the scene after receiving reports of a collision between a car and a motorcycle around 7 a.m. Upon arrival, they discovered a seriously injured motorcyclist, an adult man, who was pronounced dead despite efforts from emergency personnel.
The driver of the vehicle, also an adult man, sustained only minor injuries in the incident.
Preliminary investigations suggest that the motorcyclist was traveling northbound on Lawrence Expressway and attempting to turn left onto Arques Avenue when the collision occurred with the southbound vehicle.
While the cause of the Sunnyvale motorcycle accident remains under investigation, authorities state that the driver of the vehicle is cooperating, and there is no suspicion of alcohol or drug involvement.
