LOS ANGELES, CA (February 22, 2024) — A significant mudslide has led to the ongoing closure of a key section of the Pacific Coast Highway (PCH), with efforts to reopen the road continuing into Wednesday.
The slide, which occurred Tuesday, has blocked the highway with mud and left large boulders on the cliff’s edge, prompting a shutdown from Latigo Canyon Road to Corral Canyon Road, as reported by Caltrans District 7 on X.

Additionally, a second mudslide on Wednesday has closed Malibu Canyon Road, a vital route to Pepperdine University, potentially for several days. The slide has affected the road in both directions between Piuma and Francisco Ranch roads.
