Multi-Vehicle Pileup on the 10 Freeway Sends Two to Hospital

LOS ANGELES, CA (August 5, 2024) — A multi-vehicle pileup on the 10 Freeway early Saturday morning resulted in two people being hospitalized.
The collision occurred just after 3:15 a.m. on the eastbound lanes near the Crenshaw Avenue exit in Los Angeles’ West Adams neighborhood, according to California Highway Patrol (CHP).
Initial reports suggest that the crash began when a motorist struck a stalled vehicle, leading to a chain reaction involving at least three to four additional vehicles. Video from the Citizen App showed one car overturned, with two other heavily damaged vehicles on the opposite side of the road. First responders quickly arrived and blocked off the area to manage the situation.
Two individuals were transported to the hospital with moderate injuries. It remains unclear if impairment or speed contributed to the crash. The affected section of the freeway was reopened shortly before 5 a.m., CHP reported.
