LOS ANGELES, CA – A deadly multi-vehicle crash in El Monte left one person dead on Sunday afternoon, authorities confirmed.
According to the Arcadia Police Department, officers responded to reports of a crash at Lower Azusa Road and Dufree Avenue shortly before 3 p.m.
Emergency personnel from the Arcadia Fire Department arrived at the scene, where they determined that the driver of one vehicle had succumbed to their injuries. The victim was pronounced dead on site.
Officials have not disclosed the total number of vehicles involved or if there were additional injuries. Video footage from the scene showed severely damaged vehicles and first responders tending to at least one individual near the crash site.
