VENTURA, CA – A pedestrian was killed early Sunday morning after being struck by a vehicle while crossing outside a marked crosswalk in Oxnard, authorities said.
The collision happened around 4:50 a.m. near Fifth Street and Rose Avenue, where officers found a white Honda Pilot had hit the pedestrian. The victim was pronounced dead at the scene.
Investigators said speed, alcohol, and drugs were not factors in the Oxnard pedestrian accident. The driver remained at the scene and cooperated with authorities. The investigation is ongoing.
