Two passengers lost their lives in a car crash near Flagship Drive and 7th Street in Vallejo early Sunday morning following an incident involving a suspected drunk driver.
The Vallejo DUI crash happened around 1:15 a.m. when a Volkswagen Golf overturned in the southbound lane. Emergency responders extricated two unresponsive passengers from the twisted vehicle, but both were pronounced dead at the scene.
The driver was assisted and taken to a local hospital. A subsequent DUI investigation confirmed that both alcohol and drugs were contributing factors in the crash. This fatal collision marks the second traffic-related death in Vallejo this year, intensifying concerns over impaired driving on local roads.
