SAN BERNARDINO, CA – A rollover crash in Lucerne Valley on February 13, 2025, claimed the life of Jose Rojas, an Apple Valley resident, according to the San Bernardino County Coroner’s Office.
The accident occurred around 3:35 p.m. on State Route 18 near Lincoln Road, close to the Mitsubishi Cement Plant. The California Highway Patrol reported that Rojas’ vehicle rolled over, ejecting him from the car. Despite emergency efforts, he was pronounced dead at the scene.
Loved ones described Rojas as a dedicated father and hardworking provider. His sister, Yahaira Vargas, launched a GoFundMe campaign to support his family with funeral costs and other expenses. “He was a devoted father who worked tirelessly to provide for his two boys,” she shared.
Locals helped clarify that the crash happened near El Ranchos Farm, not the initially reported China House restaurant. Investigators have not determined whether weather conditions, including strong winds and rain, contributed to the crash. The Victorville CHP Station continues to investigate the Lucerne Valley rollover crash.
