LOS ANGELES, CA – Authorities confirmed that one person was killed and another injured following a collision between two semi-trucks on the 60 Freeway near the 57 Freeway early Thursday morning.
The crash occurred just after 4:10 a.m., according to the California Highway Patrol. Officers arriving at the scene found both trucks overturned.
One person was pronounced dead by Los Angeles County Fire Department paramedics, while a second victim was transported to a nearby hospital in an unknown condition.
A SigAlert was issued, shutting down three lanes on the eastbound 60 Freeway connector to the 57 Freeway for an ongoing investigation.
The cause of the semi-truck crash in Diamond Bar remains under investigation, and authorities have not yet released the names of the victims.
