LOS ANGELES, CA – A large piece of concrete crashed through the windshield of a pickup truck late Thursday night as the driver traveled along the 10 Freeway near Normandie Avenue in downtown Los Angeles.
The incident occurred just before midnight in the westbound lanes of the freeway. Video from the scene captured the concrete slab resting next to a pair of glasses on the truck’s floorboard. The driver managed to pull over before being transported to a local hospital in unknown condition.
Authorities temporarily blocked lanes while emergency crews responded, but the roadway has since reopened. Investigators are working to determine whether the concrete was thrown from the overpass or if it fell due to structural issues.
