SAN BERNARDINO, CA – Authorities in San Bernardino County arrested a man after a stray bullet from a domestic dispute struck a woman inside her Muscoy home last week.
Deputies responded to reports of a shooting on Duffy Street around 11 a.m. on Feb. 12, where they found a woman suffering from a gunshot wound to the upper body.
The bullet had pierced the walls of her home while she was sitting in her living room. She was transported to the hospital and is expected to recover.
Investigators say the gunfire came from a nearby altercation involving 46-year-old Vito Luna. During the dispute with another woman, Luna allegedly fired a gun, sending a bullet into the victim’s home.
Luna fled in a Nissan Pathfinder, but authorities tracked him down and arrested him days later. He faces multiple charges, including assault with a firearm, spousal abuse, and negligent discharge of a weapon. His bail is set at $350,000. Anyone with information on this Muscoy stray bullet incident is urged to call San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Central Station at (909) 387-3545.
