RIVERSIDE, CA – A 58-year-old man, identified as Michael Ryan of Crestline, died after being struck by a vehicle in the parking lot of Lake Elsinore Diamond Stadium early Monday, authorities said.
The incident occurred around 10 a.m. near Diamond Drive and Malaga Road, according to the Riverside County Sheriff’s Office. Deputies responded to the scene and determined that a driver traveling through the lot hit Ryan at an unknown speed. The driver remained at the scene, called 911, and cooperated with authorities.
Ryan was transported to Inland Valley Medical Center in Wildomar with life-threatening injuries. Despite emergency medical efforts, he succumbed to his injuries nearly six hours later.
Authorities said drugs and alcohol did not appear to be factors in the crash, and the driver was not arrested. The investigation is ongoing.
