
YORBA LINDA, CA – Two people were killed in a multi-vehicle crash on the eastbound 91 Freeway early Wednesday, leading to the temporary closure of several lanes, authorities said.
The collision occurred around 1 a.m. near Coal Canyon Road and involved at least three vehicles, according to the California Highway Patrol. One of the vehicles caught fire in the middle lanes, prompting an emergency response from firefighters and law enforcement.
Following the crash, all eastbound lanes were initially shut down, causing major traffic disruptions. By 6 a.m., only the far right and far left lanes were reopened to drivers, with the freeway fully cleared later in the morning.
Authorities have not yet released details on what led to the multi-vehicle crash in Yorba Linda, and the identities of the victims have not been disclosed. The CHP is investigating the incident, and anyone with information is urged to contact officials.
