Two teenagers riding an e-scooter were taken to a hospital after colliding with a Tesla near Hweres Street and Via Lardo Avenue in Orange at about 1:30 p.m. Tuesday.
Preliminary police reports indicate that both teens, believed to be 16-year-old boys and not wearing helmets, were traveling the wrong way on the road when they encountered the Tesla. The impact resulted in critical injuries for the two riders, though both are expected to survive.
The Tesla driver remained at the scene and cooperated fully with investigators. Authorities are working to determine what prompted the e-scooter riders to travel in the wrong direction, as no further details about their injuries have been provided.
