LOS ANGELES, CA – A pedestrian was hospitalized Sunday afternoon after being struck by a vehicle during a police chase in Vernon, authorities said.
The incident happened around 1:30 p.m. when LA Police Department officers were pursuing a suspect in an allegedly stolen black Infiniti near Dorsey Street and E. 41st Place. During the pursuit, the driver hit a female pedestrian near Vernon Avenue and Central Avenue.
The victim was transported to a nearby hospital in unknown condition. Officers arrested the driver at the scene, though their identity has not been released.
Footage from the scene showed the Infiniti stopped on the sidewalk, surrounded by crime scene tape. The investigation into the Vernon pedestrian crash continues.
