FRESNO, CA – A 22-year-old man was killed in a single-car crash on Highway 41 early Tuesday morning.
According to the California Highway Patrol (CHP), the crash happened around 6:15 a.m. on the Highway 41 transition to Highway 99. Investigators believe the driver had been traveling south just after midnight when his vehicle veered off the road and collided with a bridge pillar.
Due to the crash location, the wreckage and victim inside remained out of sight for hours until first responders arrived. The driver was pronounced dead at the scene.
CHP does not suspect alcohol or drugs were factors but believes fatigue may have contributed to the crash in Downtown Fresno. The investigation continues.
