FRESNO, CA – For the second time this week, a deadly single-car crash has occurred in Fresno.
Early Wednesday morning, around 2:30 a.m., a Volvo traveling westbound in the eastbound lanes of Highway 168 crashed near McKinley Avenue, authorities said. The vehicle caught fire upon impact, and both occupants were pronounced dead at the scene.
This marks the second fatal single-car crash in Fresno within 24 hours. On Tuesday morning, a 22-year-old man was killed in a similar crash on Highway 41 when his car veered off the road and struck a bridge pillar.Investigators have not determined whether drugs or alcohol played a role in Wednesday’s wrong-way crash in Fresno and continue to investigate the circumstances.
