A woman lost her life after a golf cart crash in Rancho Murieta, a private community in Sacramento County, on Tuesday afternoon.
The California Highway Patrol (CHP) reported that the accident happened at 2:42 p.m. on Alameda Drive, just south of Murieta Parkway, approximately 25 miles east of Sacramento.
According to CHP investigators, the woman was driving a golf cart when, for unknown reasons, she collided with a concrete and dirt divider on the roadway. Emergency responders transported her to a hospital, where she was later pronounced dead.
A female passenger in the golf cart was uninjured, authorities said. CHP is still investigating whether a medical emergency may have contributed to the crash or if the driver’s fatal injuries were solely caused by the collision.
