A high-speed collision involving five vehicles at the intersection of 10th Street (Highway 20) and G Street in Marysville on Wednesday left eight people injured, three of them seriously.
According to the Marysville Police Department, the crash occurred when a white Tesla traveling eastbound at high speed failed to stop in time, slamming into multiple vehicles waiting in the eastbound lanes.
The force of the impact pushed a black Nissan into oncoming westbound traffic, while the Tesla struck a white SUV, which became wedged under the rear of a stopped fuel tractor-trailer. The Tesla eventually came to rest in the westbound lanes.
Emergency responders transported the injured to local hospitals, including Adventist Rideout Hospital, Sutter Roseville, and UC Davis Medical Center. No fatalities were reported.
