A dramatic crash on a residential street in Redondo Beach early Monday morning left one person hospitalized and resulted in at least one arrest.
The incident happened around midnight on Garnet Street when a small white SUV, traveling at high speed, lost control on the narrow road.
Witness video captured the vehicle being violently launched into the air, possibly after striking a speed bump, before it flipped and landed in the driveway of a nearby home.
The footage shows sparks flying as the car initially struck the ground on its front end, then rebounded and tumbled sideways in front of a garage. A longtime resident of Garnet Street said he had never witnessed anything like the crash in his 33 years living in the neighborhood.
Authorities have not yet determined if alcohol or drugs were factors in the Redondo Beach crash. A spokesperson for the Redondo Beach Police Department confirmed that at least one person was taken to a hospital, and someone was arrested, though it remains unclear if both actions involve the same person.
