A minor riding a pocket bike was killed and a motorcycle rider sustained serious injuries after a collision on 20th Street East near Avenue L-8 in Palmdale on Tuesday evening.
Deputies responded shortly before 9 p.m. to reports of the crash. Preliminary investigations indicate that the juvenile, who was traveling northeast across the northbound lane on a pocket bike lacking headlights or taillights, was struck by a Harley-Davidson ridden northbound approaching Avenue L-8.
The Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department confirmed that the impact proved fatal for the minor, while the Harley rider was taken to a nearby hospital with serious injuries.
The investigation into the circumstances surrounding the Palmdale crash is ongoing. Authorities have not yet released the identities of those involved.
