A collision between a red Jeep Liberty and a silver Mitsubishi Montero on Pleasant Valley Road east of Oxnard resulted in minor injuries to both drivers and a temporary road closure Thursday morning.
The crash on Pleasant Valley Road happened shortly after 9:30 a.m. near the intersection of Pleasant Valley and Wolff roads, in an area surrounded by agricultural fields on the Oxnard Plain.
According to the California Highway Patrol, the Mitsubishi, traveling eastbound, and the Jeep, going westbound, collided head-on. Both drivers were alone in their vehicles and were transported to local hospitals with minor injuries.
At the scene, the Mitsubishi was found lying on its side over a drainage culvert, and the Jeep was stopped facing eastbound in the westbound lane. Investigators have ruled out drugs, alcohol, and excessive speed as factors in the crash.
