A pedestrian has reportedly died after being struck by a vehicle on Saturday night, police said Monday.
Officers were dispatched to the intersection of Almaden Expressway and Ironwood Drive at approximately 10:15 p.m. after receiving a call about a man hit in the southbound lanes.
Emergency medical personnel attempted to save the victim but were unsuccessful, and he was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver of a red 2009 Kia sedan stopped at the scene and cooperated with investigators.
Preliminary reports indicate that intoxication was not a factor in this San Jose collision.
This fatal incident is the seventh traffic-related death in San Jose in 2025 and the fifth pedestrian fatality this year. Authorities continue to investigate the matter.
