A three-vehicle collision on March 19 has reportedly resulted in the death of 75-year-old Leland Wayne Ramsey.
The incident happened around 7:23 a.m. near Wilson Road and Hughes Lane, when a car approaching the intersection rear-ended another vehicle. The impact reportedly caused a chain-reaction, with the struck vehicle then colliding with a third car.
Bakersfield Police responded to the scene and confirmed that the driver of the middle vehicle was taken to a local hospital for treatment but was pronounced dead at 6:48 p.m. on March 22, according to the Kern County Coroner’s Office.
Officers said that all drivers at the scene cooperated with investigators. Preliminary findings indicate that neither alcohol nor drugs played a role in the crash. No arrests have been made as the investigation continues.
