A 13-year-old driver from Visalia, identified as Blain Chandler, was reportedly killed in a fatal collision in Fresno County last Tuesday afternoon.
Authorities report that Chandler’s vehicle veered into the opposite lane at the intersection of Manning and Ohio Avenues, south of Mendota, and struck a semi-truck. Both vehicles ignited in the ensuing crash, and the semi-truck driver managed to escape the scene.
Emergency responders arrived promptly, but Chandler was pronounced dead at the scene. Investigators are examining the circumstances that led to the lane departure, with no additional details provided on contributing factors in the Fresno crash at this time.
