LAPD reports that a crash in Westchester early Friday morning resulted in one fatality and the arrest of a suspect. The incident happened around 1:27 a.m. near the intersection of Sepulveda and Century Boulevards.
Officers pursuing an alleged DUI driver lost sight of the vehicle and terminated the chase. Shortly thereafter, the suspect’s vehicle collided with another car.
Emergency responders from the Los Angeles Fire Department pronounced a passenger in the suspect vehicle dead at the scene. The driver of the vehicle that was hit was transported to a local hospital; his condition remains unknown. The suspect driver was taken into custody.
Authorities are reviewing available surveillance footage and witness statements to determine the circumstances surrounding the Westchester crash.
