An 18-year-old suspect, identified as Luis Felix of Fresno, is facing serious charges after a police pursuit ended in a multi-vehicle collision that killed two passengers.
The crash occurred at approximately 9:40 p.m. Saturday at the intersection of Temperance and Belmont Avenues.
According to the California Highway Patrol, Felix’s Dodge Charger was speeding southbound on Temperance when it clipped the left rear of a Toyota Camry stopped at a stop sign, sending the Camry spinning and Felix’s vehicle into an oncoming Chevrolet Tahoe.
Both the Charger and the Tahoe came to a halt, blocking the intersection. Two of Felix’s passengers, both 19 years old, were pronounced dead at the scene, while a third, aged 20, suffered critical injuries; his fourth passenger sustained minor injuries.
Felix himself sustained major injuries and was transported to Community Regional Medical Center.
Additional injuries were reported among the Tahoe’s occupants, including three minors with minor injuries. Investigators suspect Felix was driving under the influence. The Clovis Police Department will handle the criminal charges on this Clovis chase crash.
