
A fatal collision was reported Sunday morning in Pacoima when a white Toyota Corolla, attempting a left turn from Terra Bella Street onto San Fernando Road, failed to yield to a Los Angeles Fire Department engine with its lights and siren activated.
The crash reportedly happened around 10:45 a.m. near the intersection of Terra Bella and San Fernando Road, just outside Whiteman Airport. The impact left the Corolla with major damage along the driver’s side, resting against a light pole, while the fire engine sustained moderate front-end damage.
Two firefighters aboard the engine were hospitalized with non-life-threatening injuries. The driver, whose identity has been withheld pending notification of relatives, later died at a local hospital.
