At around 1:30 a.m. Monday morning, a collision at the intersection of 1st Street and Highland Avenue in Hancock Park left two occupants of a Toyota SUV severely injured.
Video footage from the scene shows the Toyota spinning before coming to a stop with its front end resting atop a large boulder. Investigators believe a Lamborghini, traveling northbound on Highland Avenue, struck the Toyota, which was headed east on 1st Street.
Emergency responders found two badly injured victims inside the Toyota — a female passenger who was later pronounced dead at a local hospital and a male passenger listed in critical condition.
The Lamborghini driver abandoned the vehicle and fled the scene, prompting a hit-and-run investigation. No description of the suspect has been released, and police continue to pursue leads.
