
San Rafael police arrested a driver on suspicion of DUI following a solo-vehicle collision in downtown San Rafael Tuesday night.
The incident occurred just after 8 p.m. at the intersection of Second and B Streets, where a white pickup truck veered onto the north sidewalk and struck a streetlight, several trees, and a traffic signal pole, damaging the signal control box in the process.
The driver attempted to flee but was quickly apprehended and booked into Marin County Jail on DUI charges. No injuries were reported.
