
A tragic industrial accident at a wine storage facility on 1010 Shiloh Road resulted in the death of a 40-year-old male employee on April 3rd at approximately 1:00 p.m.
The victim, whose identity has not been released, was operating forklift equipment in the wine storage area when, according to preliminary reports, a pallet loaded with wine bottles — each weighing between 2,100 and 3,000 pounds — collapsed on him after he dismounted his equipment.
Sonoma County Fire and Windsor Police responded to the scene and found the employee deceased. The Windsor Police Department has since handed the investigation over to Cal OSHA and the Sonoma County Sheriff’s Office Coroner’s Unit, with Cal OSHA taking the lead on this workplace accident.
