
Two teenagers riding a single electric scooter sustained critical injuries after their ride collided with a Tesla Model Y in Orange on Tuesday afternoon.
Officials reported that the incident occurred on Hewes Street near Via Lardo Avenue around 2:05 p.m. when the scooter, traveling in the wrong direction, struck the side of an oncoming Tesla.
The unhelmeted riders suffered severe injuries and were promptly transported to a local hospital, where their conditions remain critical. The driver of the Tesla stayed at the scene and fully cooperated with the investigation, with preliminary results indicating no influence of drugs or alcohol.
Authorities are reviewing surveillance footage and have cordoned off the area to continue their inquiry into the e-scooter crash in Orange. Details regarding the victims’ identities and ages have not yet been released.
