A violent crash in Santa Ana left five passengers dead and one critically injured on April 5.
Authorities reported that an 18-year-old driver, identified as Emanuel “Manny” Gonzalez, lost control of a sedan, resulting in a collision that claimed the lives of Gonzalez and three teenage passengers—20-year-old Aurelia “Arely” Robles, 17-year-old Natalia Vidal Zarate, and 16-year-old Jacquelyn Torres Zarate.
A 13-year-old passenger, whose identity is withheld pending notification, was initially taken to a hospital but was later declared brain dead and died from injuries.
The only survivor, 15-year-old Arlene Robles, the younger sister of the deceased Arely Robles, remains in stable but critical condition at a local hospital.
Law enforcement and emergency crews responded promptly to the scene and began a thorough investigation to determine the cause of the crash. Early reports suggest the driver may have lost control during a turn, but officials have yet to confirm any definitive factors.
Further details are expected as the investigation continues.
