A woman celebrating a new job was seriously injured after being attacked by a dog at San Leandro Marina Park last Wednesday.
Victoria Cuello had recently moved to the Bay Area and was walking her dog when a German shepherd lunged at her, biting her in the face. She sustained severe injuries to her mouth and jaw and later documented the aftermath in a video.
After the attack, Cuello asked the dog’s owner for help locating a nearby hospital. He briefly led her on foot before fleeing the scene, leaving her to seek help on her own.
Animal control has been notified about the dog attack at San Leandro Park, and Cuello plans to file a police report. Her dog was not injured.
Cuello has started a GoFundMe to help cover her medical expenses and is urging owners of aggressive dogs to keep them away from public parks, especially areas frequented by children.
